Singapore International Photography Festival
Dec, 2013
The organisers of the bi-annual Singapore Photography Festival receives countless submissions during their call-for-entries prior to each festival. When portfolios are submitted, the curators would have to sift through each submission to decide if they can be considered for the festival. To add to the administrative work of tracking the works, each submission required payment and participants were allowed to submit multiple portfolios. In previous festivals, this process was handled mostly through email and a rudimentary photo upload web service.
We created a platform online for photographers to register accounts, submit images online and make payments via PayPal. The curators were able to review each submission while the organisers could keep track of submissions and payments made. We launched the service in 6 weeks and continued to make incremental updates while the site continued to accept entries. In total, more than 1,200 participants submitted over 700 portfolios and 13,000 images.
